Hi, I’m Desiree Werland, an outdoor-only natural light photographer in the Helotes and San Antonio area.

Art has always been my first love. With a background as an artist and graphic designer, I’ve always been drawn to creating beautiful, meaningful things. After facing an autoimmune disease, I’m joyfully returning to my roots — creating art through the lens of my camera.

My first dog, Mackie (pictured here), helped me tremendously through my autoimmune journey. He showed me just how deeply pets are part of the family. That’s why I love including dogs in sessions — they bring so much joy and authenticity to the photos.

I’m passionate about nature and I truly love my city, San Antonio. That’s why all my sessions take place outdoors in soft natural light across San Antonio and Helotes. After your Photography Personality Quiz, I’ll send you three personalized location options of either shaded parks like Madla Park, Phil Hardberger Park, or Cibolo Nature Center, sculptures, murals, or other beautiful spots. You choose the one that feels right for you.

My goal is simple: create images you’ll treasure because they truly reflect your story, your light, and the love you share with your family including your four-legged members.
